Google Classroom assignment planner: turn due work into a study plan

An assignment list tells you what is due. It does not decide when you will start. A Google Classroom assignment planner works best when it connects those two decisions without replacing the place where you receive and submit schoolwork.

Published by the maker of Nonlate. This guide explains our product, not an independent comparison.

The short answer

Nonlate supports Google Classroom as a connected source. Bring supported tasks into your due-work list, choose a day to work, and protect selected distracting apps. Blocking responds to eligible unfinished tasks inside your chosen due window; it is not a permanent lock until all homework is submitted.

Start with the school’s original assignment

Check Classroom for the assignment instructions, current due date and submission status. Google’s own to-do view can help you review assigned, missing and completed work across classes. Keep Classroom as the reference for what your teacher expects.

Before relying on an import, compare one assignment in both apps. Check its title, due date and completion status. A timetable event or class meeting is not the same as a task that must be finished.

Connect, check, then choose a work session

Use the Google Classroom connection offered in Nonlate and follow the sign-in and permission instructions shown in your version. School-managed accounts may restrict third-party access; a connection cannot override your school’s policy.

  1. Confirm you are using the account enrolled in the relevant class and approve only the permissions you understand.
  2. Refresh Nonlate and check which supported assignments appear. Add a manual task for a paper handout or work that was never posted online.
  3. Choose a day in Planner, then use Schedule to see the work beside classes and other commitments. Planning does not change the teacher’s deadline.
  4. Select distracting apps and a due-work window, complete the platform permission steps, and check blocking with one qualifying unfinished task.

A report due Friday needs a start before Friday

For a Friday report, plan an outline on Wednesday and a writing session on Thursday. Keep the actual submission deadline visible. A separate manual preparation task can represent the outline if you need a smaller next action.

When the report qualifies for your blocking window, opening a selected distraction can trigger Nonlate’s blocker. Submit through Classroom as required by your teacher, then refresh and check the imported status. Do not assume a local checkmark submits your file or changes your grade.

If an assignment or update is missing

Check the original assignment, account, connection permissions and latest refresh before creating a duplicate. A teacher’s changed due date or your latest submission may not appear immediately. Sync depends on provider access, plan, connectivity and device background limits.

If school restrictions prevent connecting, ask the school about permitted access and use manual tasks meanwhile. Do not bypass school controls. Keep enough detail in a manual task to find the original assignment later, without copying private class material unnecessarily.

Understand blocking and source access

On iPhone, Nonlate uses Screen Time shields; Android can show a fuller task blocker through its required Accessibility permission. Supported timed breaks and device settings still apply. Calendar events never trigger deadline-aware blocking.

Free includes manual tasks and core blocking for up to three distracting apps. An optional 30-day trial supports one external source at a time, syncing on open or refresh, without an automatic trial charge. Afterwards syncing pauses unless an eligible paid plan provides source access; imported tasks remain available for local completion and blocking. Check current plans and store terms. The source trial starts with the first successful connection.

Common questions

Does Nonlate replace Google Classroom?

No. Keep using Classroom for instructions, teacher feedback and submission. Nonlate helps bring supported tasks into a plan and connect due work to distraction blocking.

Will a class in my calendar block Instagram?

No. Calendar events can appear in Schedule, but only eligible unfinished due tasks trigger blocking.

Can I start without connecting my school account?

Yes. Create manual tasks with realistic due dates and try the free core blocking first. External-source access has separate trial and subscription limits.
